Virtual Case Management® (VCM) is pleased to announce the newly formed relationship with SecuGen. SecuGen is world renown for its Biometric Template Extraction and readers which are FIPS 201/PIV certified. VCM has joined forces with SecuGen and has integrated this technology into our system providing the ultimate SECURE Virtual Case Management® solution.

Once Virtual Case Management® incorporated the NIST Certified fingerprint template extraction and matching algorithms, a series of beta testing took place to confirm its accuracy, speed, and its tamper proof security. After numerous tests we also focused our testing on every fingerprint reader SecuGen offers (Hamster™ III, Keyboard III, Hamster™ IV, OptiMouse III). We found the software algorithms to extract quickly with a zero fail rate, along with every biometric reader built to the highest standards working quickly and accurately. We also tried to trick the system (breaking the security) by using various tactics, i.e. lifting the previous print via tape…however all our efforts to bypass the security failed. These fingerprint algorithms have been rigorously tested by NIST’s MINEX test program to certify that they’re accurate, interoperable and robust enough to work in the diverse environments of federal agencies and facilities across the nation.

The Hamster™ IV is the only FIPS 201/PIV certified reader we offer, yet we also offer the Hamster™ III, Keyboard III, and the OptiMouse III. These biometric scanners are built just as strong and accurate as the Hamster™ IV…just not utilizing the FIPS 201/PIV certified algorithm. The OptiMouse comes in handy when in the field using a laptop and the keyboard assists in a cluttered desk; however if your operation requires that you are FIPS 201 certified look no further then the Hamster™ IV.
